Notes: One of the true Cinderella stories of 1995 college baseball, the Owls raced all the way into an at-large spot in the NCAA Regional and runner-up position to eventual NCAA champion Cal State Fullerton in the South Region. Coach Wayne Graham's group loses all-America OF Jose Cruz Jr. (a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award) but returns such standouts as 1996 U.S. Olympic Team tryout P Matt Anderson, fellow USA hopeful 1B Lance Berkman and 3B Jacques Landry on a squad chock full of experience. Though some of the big guns completed their RU service, a pitching staff with a combined 15 letters and improved defense make the Owls a strong contender for the final SWC championship.
