Comments

Texas errors were the story in this game as the Horns gave up four unearned runs. Three of them in the first inning. The team tried to make a comeback in the 7th but it was too little too late.

Game summary:

• 1st inning
  • Baylor jumps ahead to a 4-run lead, 3 of them unearned:
    • Topolski was called out on strikes.
    • Crawford was hit by a pitch.
    • Reintjes singled to lf, moving Crawford to 2b.
    • Cogdill singled to lf, scoring Crawford. On the throw to home to try and catch Crawford, Cogdill made it to 2b.
    • Dodson grounded out to 2b.
    • Blair hit a little "dribbler" toward Weaver who wildly overthrew Peoples in his attempt to get the third out. Reintjes and Cogdil scored on the error while Blair moved to 2b.
    • Morrison hit a double to cf to score Blair.
    • Texas sent Adare in to pitch.
    • Martinez popped up to 2b.
  • Texas stranded Byers (who reached on an error) and Peoples (who singled to lf) at 2b and 1b, respectively.
