Comments
I drove up to Waco for last night's game and had a pretty good time.
Despite the eerie feeling of deja vu I experienced as I watched the
Horns make costly mental errors that let Baylor stay in the game and
eventually win it. Texas was ahead 4-1 in the 4th when a thunderstorm
blew through to delay the game for over an hour. When it resumed,
Baylor scored four quick runs and the lead see-sawed for the rest of
the evening. Baylor eventually won...Reitmeier's homerun in the bottom
of the 8th being the difference.
Game summary:
- 1st inning
- Texas went down in order.
- Baylor jumped to an early lead:
- Topolski led things off for Baylor by hitting a homerun over the
rf fence.
- Crawford, Reintjes, and Blair then went down in order.
- 2nd inning
- Texas stranded Layne and Escamilla (who both walked) at 2b and 1b,
respectively.
