A very windy evening for baseball...a stiff wind blew out to left throughout the game. The temperature started at 70 (deg. F) and dropped to about 65. O'Dell kept ORU hitless through 3-2/3 innings...then Paul hit a homerun over the left field fence. O'Dell also threw 10 strikeouts. He continues to be the most consistent and reliable pitcher on the squad as the season wears on.
Kiemsteadt (batting only .190 going into tonight's game) was the offensive star as he nearly went the cycle...he hit a 3-rbi homerun, an rbi double, a single, and a sacrifice bunt. He also came around to score three runs...as did Salinas.
Texas did something you don't see very often. In the 6th, and then again in the 7th, they bunted with 2 on (no outs) to try and advance the base runners. Both times, ORU managed to throw out the lead runners going to 3b.
