This was Texas' first home opener loss since 1978 when they lost to St. Mary's (from San Antonio) and their first opening day loss since 1986 when they lost at Miami.
It was cold at the Disch today. Yesterday's game was postponed due to the frozen condition of the field. Apparently, the ground crew really whipped things into shape today, though. I waffled about going but then decided against it when I stopped to really think about how much fun it would be to sit on a metal seat in the wind with the temperature hovering right around the freezing mark. So, I sat in the warmth of my home and kept score while watching a movie. 'Twas very pleasant and I have a feeling I just may end up doing the same thing tomorrow!
