It was a beautiful day for baseball...temperatures in the 70's and the wind stayed pretty calm. Six of the Sooners in the lineup came into the game batting over .400...very impressive. Smart was in great form, though, and scattered the Sooner hits. He struck out all 3 batters in the 7th inning. It's always fun to see that sort of accomplishment -- particularly if it's "my" team doing the pitching! Texas' dh spot failed to produce again as Salinas went 0/3 with a walk...and then was caught stealing; but, to be fair, it looked like he got the hit-and-run sign but Taylor failed to connect on his swing, leaving Salinas stuck between 1st and 2nd. Naturally, Taylor ended up hitting a homerun two pitches later so it could've been a costly mistake.
